I am strongly apposed to the U.S. government approving drilling in environmentally sensitive areas. Wildlife refuges and protected areas were not intended for oil drilling. I understand and support the need to lessen the reliance of foreign imports, but the U.S. and its people should become more energy efficient not scramble for oil. For example, if light trucks and SUV’s were forced to pass the same emissions and efficiency tests as cars in 7 years the oil saved would equal the amount of oil in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), were the government plans to drill.
