They are the eye candy of today’s hottest videos and the hidden essence of what every Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and Rock video is really about. These scarcely clad beauties shake it, roll it, and pop it giving mesmerizing performances that enhance, not only the video they are in, but the performance of the artist as well. ... These “Video Girls”, as they are loosely described as, are at times classless and sometimes downright disgusting.
If you were to ever ask a woman on the streets if she would ever take the place of one of these video girls they would almost certainly answer you “No”. But the reality of it is, that if one hundred women were ever asked by an artist of enormous popularity to be in a video, most would jump at the chance. ... Not all roles video girls are given are degrading. But what makes some women do what they do on video sets?
