A Friend Worthwhile

How could a simple baseball game in New York lead to lasting friendship between two enemies? The question is pretty basic, but there were many issues involved in Reuven and Danny's friendship. Even though both were Jewish, each of the family beliefs and traditions interfered with the boys spending more time together. It also resulted in frustration reflected upon eachother. But as many problems as there were, there was an equal amount of good qualities Danny and Reuven possessed that made their friendship all the better. They both learned from eachother, even if one probably wouldn't be willing to admit it. It all began at the baseball field. Danny had hated Reuven for being the 'type of Jew' that he was assumed to be - by the strict Orthodox Jew 'community', at least. So as to exhibit his hatred towards him, Danny purposely hit a tricky ball, aiming directly for Reuven's face.
