Once upon a dreary November, I stood amongst the irritated company of my forth grade peers. Sitting, standing, then sitting again, we all wiggled our feeble limbs like a worm pinned down by the forceful thumb of its youthful torturer. Finally it had come to take us to our final destination. As we began to form something of an organized line, the bus squealed to a stop. At first our spirits were perched high upon our joyous shoulders, eyes bright like the rays of a clear midmorning sunshine, walking in unison to the stride of an imaginary marching snare as if proud to be as ignorant of what was to come as we were.
