Gullivers Travels The Third Voyage

Gulliver’s Travels; The Third Voyage
In the third book of Gulliver’s Travels, Gulliver sets out on a journey that satirizes science, learning, and abstract thought. In this section, Gulliver travels to four major areas: Laputa, Lagado, Glubbdubdrib, and Luggnag; On these islands, he encounters many interesting people and practices that demonstrate ridicule on many aspects of philosophical thinking.
First, Gulliver has not been home ten days from the second journey before he is summoned for a voyage to the East Indies. The name of the ship “Hopewell”, indicates what the third voyage will bring: Hope in philosophical thinking. Gulliver agrees to be present in the voyage and it happens that his ship is attacked by pirates, forcing Gulliver to be sent out at sea in a tiny boat with four-days worth of food. ...
In conclusion, the entire third voyage attacked science, learning, and abstract thought, offering a critique of excessive rationalism, unlike the second voyage that satirized politics and ethics.
