Kane & Abel is a historical fiction, taking place from 1906-1967. It is the story of Abel Rosnovski, a Polish immigrant, and William Lowell Kane, the handsome son of a rich banker. Abel starts off in a butcher shop and makes his way up to a waiter in a prominent hotel, while Kane has just graduated from Harvard and is working at his father’s old bank, Kane and Cabot. Abel’s strong work ethics and honesty gets the attention of the hotel owner, Mr. Leroy, and he leaves in his will the Richmond Group to Abel. Unfortunately, the Richmond Group is in debt two million dollars to the bank, Kane and Cabot, after the stock market crash of 1929, and this is when Kane and Abel’s lives collide. Kane, on behalf of the bank, refuses to give Abel a loan, leaving Abel bitter and revengeful.
