|
|
|
In the book Kaffir boy by Mark Mathabane, Mark, the main character goes through many tough decisions and hardships. Many of his decisions have a chain reaction, and many of the decisions are the easy way out. Mark talks about going to school for a better education. Though there is no food, clothing, or money, Mark takes to his own advantage to go to school. That decision was not only selfish but it was also the easy way to get out of gangs, and going to work. He sometimes uses the excuse that he is going to school to get a better education, and to get a good job, but really he might be going to get away from the horror of his home life. While going to school, he gets into the top spot in his class. By being smart, he gets a scholarship. While going to the new school, he gets the decision to go to a tennis ranch.
