Kents essay

English 9 Mr. Craft October 13 Kent Crymes George and Lennie’s Relationship The famous novel Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck, shows a great example of friendship and companionship. Of Mice and Men takes place during the Great Depression, which occurred in the 1930’s. The two main characters, George and Lennie, are the best of friends as they go through hard times together. Even though they are the same age, George acts like a father to Lennie because of Lennie’s slight case of retardation. In this novel, Steinbeck shows how these two men sticking together gives them an advantage over others in the same position. George and Lennie’s relationship gives them a much better chance of realizing their dream. George and Lennie’s relationship is one of a kind in their environment, but analysis of it shows how it gives them masterful advantages over other people. George and Lennie’s relationship is very strong and notable. George and Lennie stick together like brothers while other people work by themselves and don’t really have close friends. George says to the boss, “He’s my cousin. I told his old lady I would take care of him.
