Lord Of The Flies
The defects in society can be traced to the defects in individuals. After reading Lord of the Flies I can now recognize the defects in society as being seen in the defects of individuals. While the adventurous boys on the island continue their journey for survival they constantly changed their way of conduct and they changed groups and split up. Initially there were rules and regulations for the good of the boys. But then again boys will be boys as they don’t see the whole picture and take their survival skills for a joke and a game. The most important part of surviving is to stay together, be organized, and to be serious. They started out this way but then got off track. One good aspect of change shown by the boys was for instance Jack being a civilized young man and being brought up where he never killed anything to eat such as a living pig. That’s how it was in the beginning but as he changed with society he adapted and was a ferocious pig hunter who had a blast going after the plump pig with his sharpened spear.
