English Speech Being stranded on an island, away from western civilization for a few months would drive any individual to start losing their sense of reason. However it is moronic to think that the reason Jack planned to kill Ralph was because he was away from his usual cultural surroundings. Mr. Ross knows it and you should all be made aware of the fact that he intended and attempted to murder my client. There is no doubt that all the boys were put in a difficult and horrifying situation however, violence against another human being cannot be excused because of this. Imagine a situation were a prisoner was in a verbal fight with another prisoner and was punished by being placed in a confinement cell for three months. Throughout this time the prisoner boiled rage against the other person he was in the fight with and when released he attempted to murder the other prisoner in the courtyard.
