Discuss how the protagonist comes to feel reassured that he is at last “the equal of any other man on earth. ... In the process of self-discovery, the man will gain his salvation. ... When the Man was captured by the Crow Indians, the author describes him as being naked. ... The man realizes that if he considers himself to be a ‘man’, he would expect to be treated like a man. ... So, he comes up to be conclusion to consider himself as a horse. ...
The man accepts his new status as a horse for now, but he knows that he won’t always be like this. Anyway, a real horse is better than he is because it can run fast, lash out with his hooves and bite a human.
