After reading this story many themes came to my head, but I think the main theme in this story was man’s inhumanity to man. Some other themes I also got out of this novel were the breaking of a father son bond. These themes are very clear in the novel because these themes are mainly based on the plot to this novel. All you need to do to find these themes is read the book. This novel couldn’t be a vehicle for propaganda because it based on a real life story and anything could not be fictional about it. I believe the main purpose of this book was to generate some strong emotion and to provide some new insights on how Jews live back during the Hitler reign. It generates some strong emotions because you get see what exactly goes on in one of the concentration camps. The plot to this novel is centered on a man named Eliezer, who is telling his real life story of when his father and him were separate and put into concentration camp. Eliezer tells about his experience of see children being killed and gassed to death. Eliezer is with his father for the journey to the concentration camps. As the story ends his father start to disappear out of Eliezer’s site.
