In the century since The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was written there has been a great controversy over to read it or not, who should be able to read it, should it be taught in classrooms and such. ... It seems to me people are ignorant and want to ignore that Huck Finn is a realistic fiction novel. ... I agree with many people when they say that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of the best books written. ... " Yes, when Mark Twain referrs to the slave Huck Finn befriends he calls him nigger Jim. ... And only now, as Pat Conroy said, if everywhere in The Adventures of Huckelberry Finn where it says nigger was replaced with African-American, would people be happy then anyways?
