Scarlet Letter
Imagine yourself in seventeenth century Boston. The Puritans have created a cookie cutter form of the perfect individual. They are to be pious, God-fearing men and women. Woman and men alike are not to stand out, but rather blend into their surroundings and people around them. However, the Scarlet Letter is a book about four people and their struggles because they were not the perfect Puritans they appeared to be. The character of Dimmesdale, a Puritan minister, showed many character traits including guilt, pride, and hypocrisy.
