A Conformist Regime I’m excited as I get home from Allan’s Music with a brand new set of Ernie ball strings, I bought them for the gig I have tonight. It is a battle of the bands and I just can’t wait! I get down to my room and throw the strings on the bed, then I call Ben. “Hello.” “Oh hi Benny, how are ya?” “Fully sic mate.” “Are you ready for the gig?” “Err… yeh, just stringing up as we speak.” “Me to, so when are you comin’ round?” “I should be there in about twenty minutes.” “Righty-O, See you then.” “Bye.” “Oh Wait!” “Yeh, what?” “Are you driving?” “You bet you.” “Can ya give us a lift?” “No.” “Why n...” “Just joshing you.” “See-ya mate.” “Alright, bye.” And with that I grabbed my bass and started stringing it up for the big night ahead. After me and Ben had knocked back a few cold ones Trent rocked up with Jarred, A drum kit, and a bottle of wild turkey. “Are you boys Thirsty?” “You betcha!” “Come on Ryan don’t you want to have a drink?” “Of course I do, but shouldn’t we wait till after we play, because you know this is a pretty important gig.” “Yeh Trent.” “Alright but I get first drink.” “Alright, Just Chuck the bottle in my bass drum and let’s go.” “Come on enough chit-chat, let’s go! “And the winner is… Conformist!” “Oh my god dude we just won!” “The boys from Conformist have just won a record contract with Fat Wreck Chords and a world tour. Starting next week they will start there tour by going up through the middle east and then proceed through central and western Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, North America, then down through Eastern Asia, and then finally they will finish with a national tour of our beautiful country of Australia. So boys what do you have to say for your selves?” “Come on Trent, give us a speech” “No way, I’ve had too many beers.” “Speech Speech Speech!!!” “Alright, but only if you guys shut up.” “Now heres the lead singer from our prize winning band this evening, Trent Bartlet.” “I don’t know if it’s me or the booze talking but I love you man.
