Tess of the d Urbervilles

Thomas Hardy, the author of Tess of the d’Urbervilles, is noted for his
use of fatalism. Tess Durbeyfield is the character in which Hardy infests the most fatalism in. The ironic set of events where Alec and Tess meet each other, Alec seduces Tess, and Alec sees Tess again after she tells Angel Clare about Alec and the baby she had conceived all lead to proof that Hardy puts fatalism to use in Tess’ relationship with Alec.
