Anorexia Nervosa Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder defined by a refusal to maintain a body weight within 15 percent of an individual’s minimal normal weight. People with this disease usually lose the weight by reducing their amount of food intake and exercising excessively. Anorexia is known to be a life-threatening disease. There are many distinguishable signs that show if a person has been affected by Anorexia. The consequences are extremely serious and may even go as far as death. The various causes are broad, but may lead to knowing if a person is affected. Anorexia may develop at any stage in a person’s life. Ninety percent of all the people affected are adolescent and young women.
