The process by which a people will physiologically and behaviorally change in order to survive in their natural surroundings is known as adaptation. As people undergo change their cultural systems begin to morph, also transforming to best ensure survival. There are two factors that play an important role in adaptation. The first being environment, which includes climate as well as natural resources such as stones, plants and water. The second being problems that a people must over come, such as diseases and parasites. In this paper I will look at how hunting and gathering cultures adapt to their environments and resources. A hunting and gathering culture, also known as a foraging culture, has many things that make it different from other preindustrial societies.
