1.) What is already known about this topic is that in a previous emergency situation where lots of people were present less action was taken or the reaction time was slow. Also, that in an emergency/dangerous situation, people are in conflict. They do not want themselves to be harmed by intervening according to Milgram and Hollander (1964). Also, they may assume that since so many are present or witnessing then someone else has already helped.
