angela's ashes

Angela’s Ashes By Frank McCourt A critical book review Frank McCourt’s tells his meaningful, life story. He wrote Angela’s Ashes to tell his story of his miserable, poor childhood growing up in Ireland, to teach you to never give up on your hopes and dreams, no matter what the situation is, and to take pride in what you have. The intended audience for this book is for people who enjoy reading autobiographies and for people who like reading about history. This story is a tale of McCourt’s miserable childhood in damp, gray, Limerick, Ireland. Frank is born in New York during the depression and prohibition. After the death of his baby sister Margaret and the target on his father’s head from the IRS, this sends Angela, Franks mother, Malachey, Franks Father, and his three brothers Malachey, Eugene, and Oliver, back to the poverty of Ireland. Frank’s father is the stereotypical Irish father who is an alcoholic, and in this case his family is second to the drink.
