During the time of the American Revolution Benjamin Franklin was the infamous co-author of the Declaration of Independence, while Martha Ballard was just another midwife of the late eighteenth century. Ben Franklin’s story is told through many sources of literature, such as Edmund Morgan’s “Benjamin Franklin”, and everyone is aware of his significance to the formation of the United States, however, many are unaware of his many other achievements. While Martha Ballard is not the historical figure that Franklin is, her historical significance can be told through her journal. ...
