Chicago In the movie/play Chicago, a woman names Roxie is an upcoming performer. She would do anything to become famous. She ends up sleeping with a man who claims he can get her a key performance. After she sleeps with him he comes clean about not really being able to get her any performance at all. Roxie then decides to pull out a gun and kill him for lying to her. Every time that Roxie got up on stage and performed she was acting as a different person. She was displaying her acting skills by singing and dancing. Dancing was a very important part of the movie. What would a musical be without some dancing? You can’t just sit there and sing, there has to be some movement to stimulate your senses. The same goes with the music portion of the movie. The music is what makes the movie. Chicago was a musical type of theater. It had singing, dancing, and acting. All of these things make up a musical. This movie focuses more on the singing and dancing part of the three performances. The main point of the movie is that Roxie wants to become this amazing, powerful superstar. Basically what she wanted was to become just like Velma. Once Roxie goes to prison for killing that man she then meets Velma.
