Lauren Brenner My parents divorce wins the award for the event in my life that changed me the most. There have been many things that happened to me that have affected my attitude, personality and most importantly, outlook on life. Loosing and gaining friends and lovers through the years have influenced the way I form relationships with people and whom I chose to form them with. The death of loved ones made me learn to cope with grief. Special people who pass on will always remain in my heart and their thoughts are always with me. Along with all these big changes there were little ones, but little changes can sometimes cause a dramatic change in character. However, these changes meant nothing to me compared to my parent's separation. I sometimes wonder about the person I would've become if the divorce never happened At the age of six I was living in a perfect world. Some say that when you are that young nothing can really bother you, and it was true to a certain extent. I thought everything was fine and dandy at that time. According to my siblings it was hell in my household. There were horrible, never-ending fights that I didn't even hear. I can imagine myself playing with my dolls, or watching a My Little Pony video in my room, totally oblivious to the disaster going on in my parent's bedroom. But it was better that way. My sister and brother told me that they did everything in their control to keep me away from the mess.
