When I look myself I try to know who am I. I spend one or two hours with that quiestion infront of miror. The Bakharden Underground Lake one of the largest in the Central Asia an unusual natural sight in a cave about 100 kilometers north-west of Ashgabat on the northern slope of the Kopetdag. A trip there on an Intourist bus takes about six hours. The regional center, the village of Geok-Tepe (Green Hill), I located approximately halfway between the lake and Ashgabat. Its streets are lined with tall, leafy trees and its yards are filled with fruit gardens, the village itself being surrounded by irrigated fields. This entire region has long been famed for its vineyards, gardens, and melons, and silk-growing has been added in recent years. The making of silk, like carpet making, has long been a specialty of Central Asia.
