FDR Days

Franklin D. Roosevelt Franklin D. Roosevelt was born in 1882 at Hyde Park, New York. He attended Harvard University and Columbia Law School. In 1905, on St. Patrick’s Day, he married Eleanor Roosevelt. Following in his cousins footsteps, President Theodore Roosevelt, who inspired him greatly, Franklin D. Roosevelt entered public service through politics as a Democrat. In 1910, he won the election to the New York Senate, and in 1920 President Wilson appointed him Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and he was the Democratic nominee for Vice President in the same year.
