The Significance of Isaac Asimov Towards the Science-Fiction Genre
Isaac Asimov could easily be named the biggest contributor to science-fiction of all time. Asimov was an intelligent, capable man who utilized his full potential to create astoundingly enthralling books that captured the interest of avid science fiction readers and casual readers of the genre. He had such a prolific career that many authors’ combined works would still not equal the number of books that Asimov had written. ... Being a man of such intelligence, Asimov believed that educating an uninformed, misled culture was an imperative thing to do. As Asimov stated, “I write in order to teach and in order to make people feel good, for I am wedded to the idea that learning is the most enduring pleasure” (Asimov 73). From the day that Isaac Asimov had entered the science-fiction scene the genre had been changed indefinitely by his ingeniously creative style to his previously unimaginable innovations.
Asimov was able to develop such ground-breaking ideas and simply new thought processes partially because he was an exceptionally intelligent man. ... Asimov acknowledged the fact that an early start at writing helped him develop his own writing style (Asimov-Ency. ... Writing primarily about the future involved much technology in his stories and Asimov had an already impressive knowledge of the sciences to supply him with a vast array of ideas for his books. ... Asimov was able to delve deeper into the unthinkable technology in his new science-fiction stories.
