There are many government agencies, both local and federal, that regulate and distribute funding to be given to encourage, purchase, and preserve art. While it is our consensus that art is a wonderful aspect of our society, we feel that it is not a crux. Our objective is not to debunk art, it is to reinforce the fact art is a very loose term, and an entirely private interest.
A major publicly funded art supporter is the National Endowment for the Arts. ... has proposed budgets of $176 million to finance independent artists, and that annual budget rises by millions each year. Part of this money (well over a million dollars, in fact) was used to put on a very grandiose exhibit in New York City.
