Freedom's Obligations

Freedom’s Obligation “Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon it’s goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.” Thomas Paine The American Crisis Papers, 1776 Freedom is a gift that at one point in American history was extremely valued. These days the privileges and responsibilities of liberty are tossed by the wayside. Complacency and apathy have left many a voting booth empty. All too often, Americans are perfectly content to ignore their convictions, when the Constitution grants them the right of protest. Despite the blood shed defending American ideals, people don’t take advantage of the opportunities handed to them as citizens of this mighty nation.
