The time has come to make major efforts to switch to renewable resources. The Federal Republic of Germany believes that the international community should follow its steps in making a transition to renewable resources. Germany affirms that providing modern energy services to the developing nations and reducing the global environmental impacts of energy use is a substantial challenge, but one where renewable energy and energy efficiency and sustainability can make a significant contribution.
