Should marijuana become a legalized drug? Before I express my opinion on the legalization issue of marijuana I must first attempt to explain what marijuana is and it’s known effect on the human body. Heavy marijuana smokers have reduced airway function. Marijuana can limit your bodys ability to fight off infection. ... Some research even shows that long-term marijuana user can increase the risk of developing certain mental illnesses. Marijuana can damage the memory of an unborn child if a mother smokes while pregnant. In the case of crime marijuana does not have the high level of addiction like heroine or cocaine but there are some person who like to stay in this hallucinogenic state and would commit crimes to get monies to buy marijuana to get that high. My overall conclusion about marijuana and if it should be legalized is that marijuana does too much harm than good to the body and mind for me to consider legalizing it. ... With the respect for the Rastafarian religion I can not say I condone legalizing marijuana for their seek it is to risky I feel that people with in flock the religion and use it as a scapegoat and this would be defeating the purpose of trying to keep the community away from the drug. Like I said earlier doctors should prescribe marijuana to sick patients and they should be heavily monitored. People who smoke marijuana generally have reduced energy, reduced motivation and decreased drive.
