Robert Jackson’s “The Arrogance and Cruelty of Power” was powerful and persuasive opening argument to convict the Nazi criminals. Delivering he opening statement for the first military tribunal to prosecute people for war crimes, he really set the standard for war crime trails from then on. In this powerful speech he uses many techniques to persuade the judge and jury that these men are not only guilty, but that the trail they are going through is justified.
