The Prince by Nicolo Machiavelli is a very political and philosophical book which details and exemplifies the corrupt and stealth manner which leaders of his day ruled. Machiavelli published this outline of how to be a successful ruler in 1516 and presented it to the Prince of Florence, Lorenzo Medici. The Prince stated acts which rulers in his day performed in response to issues, then Machiavelli analyzes the leaders’ actions by stating his opinion on the correct approach to handling a future set up. He also included examples of leaders who did not act accordingly and condemns them.(Machiavelli,12) Nicolo believed that in order to be a powerful leader, one must do everything he is capable of doing to maintain the respect and loyalty of the people .He writes this book as a reality check, not of what rulers should of done but what they actually did and how to learn from their mistakes. ...

He also relates the same concept with the fact that if one group of individuals looks down upon you, they will not be afraid to overthrow you (Prentice Hall Literature World Masterpiece,672). This is the main concept of the book ,”A Prince not Respected By the People is a Prince In Danger. ...
Machiavelli’s motivations for composing the book were to finally unite Italy through a republic in order for Italy to prosper, not only the nobles but the people as a whole. In chapter sixteen, Machiavelli stresses that a prince has the option to spend his own wealth or that of his subjects , but must remain very liberal with his dealings. ...
In chapter nineteen, Machiavelli devotes a whole chapter to his main theme, that the prince must maintain the good will of his people. Machiavelli expands on this principle stating that if the people (or the nobles, soldiery, or any other group the prince must gain favor from) are "corrupt," and demand bad acts, the prince must oblige.
