Christ, the Image of God the Father
John17 1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. ... 3And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. ... 5And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
In John 17, Christ categorically states to God that “They are one” “11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. ... Christ, the Son of God, is the image of God, for He is God.
He talks to God about the disciples and how He was given them by God and the work He has done in them, just as God did in Him. As we are His servants and should strive to do nothing that is not of Jesus, so Christ was here to do the bidding of God, He did nothing that was not of God. He was the servant of God and of man, just as we are the servant of God and Jesus and also the servant of man.
To endeavour to be like Christ is to serve even to the point of death, (1Cor133 though we give our bodies to be burnt,) and to love even as Christ did, even to the point of death.
