Death

Why be afraid of death when I know I am a born again (reborn) Christian? ... Because of Christ’s death and resurrection it makes it more comforting for a Christian to die because they know that they can be resurrected into heaven. “The Christian vision of death, centered on the death of Jesus, his resurrection and the “alimentary” sign which he gave of it, is therefore essentially realistic, stripped of all poetry and all imagination: each one of us, by this event which finally makes sense, is stripped of insufficiency of “sin” and of the consciousness-duration contradiction; we enter, by means of a real mutation, into the mode of existence which is, properly speaking, eternal, and each one of us does this in the totality of his radically renewed person.
