Stephen Jay Gould, author of The Panda’s Thumb, would most likely agree with many of the problems created by the design argument and its claims. Gould disputes the fact that many text books appear to demonstrate evolution by way of the best possible design. He feels as if this “ideal design” is a poor example and argument in favor of evolution due to the fact that it imitates an assumed act of an all powerful creator.
