Views on Abortion Christians have a very negative view on abortion and these are some points they put across in their argument the baby should have protection, and one person should not be allowed to decide whether it lives or dies. They believe that life is God given; therefore any termination of life is going against God's wishes. This even includes the case of rape. They believe that life starts from the moment the egg and sperm meet therefore abortion at any stage in the process is killing. They believe that it is unfair to abort a baby for the reason that it is mentally or physically handicapped. This can only usually be found out around week 22 so the baby is already quite developed, and is nearly at the stage of viability. Many people who have been born mentally or physically disabled have gone on to lead good and rewarding life so it is not fair to take that chance away from a baby.
