four paths of Yoga

In the Hindu religion, yoga’s ultimate goal is to unite one with God. However, since no two people are the same, four different yoga paths are available for the different personality types: jnana yoga, bhakti yoga, karma yoga, and raja yoga. Because there are four paths there are likewise four personality types: emotional, energetic, reflective, and experimental. For each of these personality types, Hinduism has a yoga path that is designed to accommodate it.

Jnana yoga is for those who seek to be one with God through knowledge. ...

Bhakti, the second yoga, is the yoga of love and devotion. It is the most popular of the four paths. The intention of bhakti yoga is to direct the love that is in ones heart towards God. It differs very much from that of Jnana yoga because, with bhakti yoga, ones feelings are much more important than ones thoughts.
