THE GATHERING NATHANIAL’S DIARY ENTRIES 1/1/00 Glad I’m leaving this school. It was worse than a nightmare. I don’t fit in anywhere that I’ve been to. I wonder if there is actually a place where I do fit in? Example: Today these group of guys were pushing me round in a circle; like an amusement ride but not fun at all, just for the simple reason and the sake of them getting enjoyment out of me being pushed around. Then they took my hat which is was wearing (just happening to be my favourite one which was red) proceeding to throw it in the dirt, kicked it for a moment, then walked away giggling. So I picked up my hat and sat down under a tree imagining different scenarios if I had done something and if I had four-ten shotgun. Oh Well. Nathanial 23/2/00 I’m really sick of travelling around. School to school, place to place. If we could just stay in one place for six months at least, it would be a lot different. You know it wasn’t like this when Dad was still alive. He had a steady job and so did Mum. Mum didn’t have to work the long shifts that she does and well that isn’t going to happen. She needs to work these shifts to keep us with a roof over our heads. Even though Dad died when I was little, I still wish he was here today. I have heard that Mum wasn’t the same after he died. But you can’t change the fact that what happened in the past is permanent, still there is hope for the future. Nathanial 16/4/00 Buddha must be on to me. That phone call was really freaky, just nothing but breathing, ran chills down my spine. Well it was either Buddha or someone in the Gathering that the Kraken has under control. Are they trying to psyche me out or something because it has worked.
