The readers of Mark’s gospel are almost immediately introduced to the identity of the divine King, Jesus Christ. Only after we are told of Jesus’ kingship does Mark slowly begin revealing what the Kingdom of God is all about. We learn that that the ‘Kingdom’ means working with Jesus to draw others into the faith. In general terms, the Kingdom of God is the rule of God in the lives of his people.
