Ghazali
The debate between Ghazali and Ibn Rushd is centered on the role of philosophy and philosophical tradition in the Islamic religion and beliefs. Ghazali focuses on mysticism as a source of philosophy, whereas Ibn Rushd focuses on the Islamic Law as a source of philosophy. The primary problem that Ghazali attributes to philosophy is that the philosophers have borrowed teachings from the mystics and have incorporated into their writings various conceptions from mystics and prophets.
