The article, “Vatican hampers liturgical inculturation, bishops say”, is a good example of the coming of global Christianity. It is proof, however, that the globalization in Christianity is not yet realized and still has a ways to come. As Christianity expands southwards and eastwards towards Africa, Asia, and Latin America different cultures will have different ideas relating to Christianity and will interpret some aspects in ways more familiar to their respective backgrounds. ... They believe that if the Liturgies are allowed to be cultured, it will “generate greater participation of the faithful” which will be indubitably a positive step for Christianity.
The opinions of Jesuit Bishop John Baptist Thakur provide an example that global Christianity is not yet realized. ... Judging by this account of the struggle of the inculturation process, it is evident that global Christianity has yet to be seen and still has a long way to come.
The Vatican and the bishops in India can be figuratively compared to the North and the South in Christianity of Philip Jenkins.
