Berhampore Flats were the first blocks of flats project to be completed by the Department of Housing Construction under the leadership of architect Francis Gordon Wilson. Built of reinforced concrete, Berhampore Flats consisted of 50 flats with a community hall on the center of the site and 11 garages were also included.
