The incarnation of Christ is not only essential for all of Christianity it is the distinguishing characteristic that sets it apart from all of the other major religions. Jesus Christ was the only religious figure to claim divinity; (All of the other religious figures claimed to be prophets or claimed to have divine revelation, yet none of them claimed the exclusiveness that Christ proclaimed). Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, the second person of the trinity. ... ” (John 1:1,2) Jesus Christ was God from the beginning of time and yet He chose to become flesh and dwell among us, His glory was seen and that glory was full of grace and truth. ... He is worthy of worship that far exceeds all other idols, “God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every Knee should bow, in Heaven and on Earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
