King David The Beloved One

King David: The Beloved One

The name David is derived from the Hebrew word pronounced daw-veed which means beloved one. David’s name is a wonderful prediction of his life to come. “Perhaps the most striking characteristic of the life of David is its romantic variety of circumstances.” His career goes through many transitional periods, from is fairly ordinary start as a shepherd, to his final words as king. He is a king after God’s heart, and though he stumbles on his walk from time to time, through it all he had his eyes on God and repented of each of his downfalls. He learned from his mistakes, and even when he repeated a past transgression, David always realized the error in his ways. David sinned a great deal, but when it came down to it he always confessed his sins and always wanted to do what was right.
David was the first anointed king over Judah and he later became king over all Israel. David’s coming into power would however be gradual. ... This early part of his life He then took on the job as the armor bearer and musician for King Saul for many years.
