THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS
The Screwtape Letters By C.S. Lewis Lewis was influenced by World War I physically when he was wounded, but was more profoundly influenced by the mechanization and political backdrop of World War II. This is evidenced along with his conversion to Christianity in the book The Screwtape Letters. During his youth, Lewis had several friends who were decidedly agnostic. After a few years of being exposed to their beliefs, he returned to the strong faith of his mother.
