Describe and explain the differences and similarities between the Arctic and Rainforest

The main difference between these two ecosystems is that the Tropical rainforest is a high productivity ecosystem and the Arctic Tundra is a low-productivity ecosystem.
Comparatively the arctic and rainforest ecosystems have very contrasting climates, which consequently affect the other factors of the ecosystem such as soil and vegetation. The climate zone of the Tropical Rainforest is the humid tropics where annual rainfall totals exceed 2000mm, whereas precipitation, usually snow, totals in the Arctic ecosystem fall below 250mm. In the rainforest temperatures are high with the mean monthly temperature around 27°C and an annual range of only 4°C, in contrast in the Arctic there are long periods of severe cold conditions with the annual average of 0°C. ... There is poor biodiversity this is a complete contrast to the Rainforest where the ecosystem is very diverse as many as 200 species per hectare, including figs, teak and mahogany.
