It has been altered by clear-cutting forests, therefore leaving less vegetation to absorb the C02. This adds more C02 into the air then plants and oceans can remove. Also many different countries and the people in them burn more fossil fuels than the earth can handle, this releasing more C02 into the air. (Source: Our Environment; Draper, 2002, pg.73) 2) The overall global effect of this problem is it contributes to the global warming effect through the release of excess C02 in the air.
