ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY AND WILDLIFE

As the world is becoming more of a global village there are many global consequences of agricultural subsidies. No longer are subsidies a necessity that the governments of developed countries need to pay in order to maintain their agricultural industries. This is because the agricultural crisis that forced the government to start paying the subsidies has subsided and now developed countries are seeing an excess in agricultural products. Most developed countries are now having a problem with obesity and wastage of food rather than starvation due to shortage of agricultural products. The global consequences of subsidies are many; firstly it has a bad effect on the economy of developing nations. They can no longer sustain themselves or make a profit either in their home markets or abroad due to the low price of agricultural products. The farmers from the developing countries are now wondering why they are even bothering to farm any more when any of the money that they hope to get would be less than the cost of producing the products.
