Fermentation
... Another name for an anaerobic respiration reaction is fermentation. Fermentation is described as the process, in which cells make a limited amount of ATP by converting glucose into another organic compound, such as lactic acid or ethyl alcohol, in the absence of oxygen. ...
Fermentation differs, which depends on the enzymes that are used and the compounds that are made from pyuvic acids. The two most common types of fermentations are lactic acid fermentation and ethyl alcohol fermentation. Lactic acid fermentation happens when oxygen can not get to the lungs and the blood quick enough to keep up with the needs of the muscles. Ethyl alcohol fermentation happens when there is a combination of yeast and some kind of bacteria.
