Galaxies are large systems of stars. They usually contain several trillion stars. Some of these stars have masses much larger than that of our sun. These stars are separated by thousands of light years of distance. Galaxies are pretty vast things….each one covers extremely large distance.There is four major types of galaxies: Spiral, lenticular, elliptical and irregular. They are classified by the Hubble Classification System.
